Tomatoes are a good source of vitamin A which help in maintaining healthy vision and skin. Garlic has several health benefits like lowering cholesterol, controlling blood pressure, preventing heart disease and cancer. This chutney goes great as an accompaniment with idli, dosa, paratha, thepla, etc. 

INGREDIENTS:
  • Tomatoes - 2 nos
  • Red chillies - 3 to 4 nos
  • Garlic cloves - 15 nos
  • Gingelly oil/ sesame oil - ½ tsp
  • Salt - as per to taste
  • Water - as required
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Grind the tomato, chopped garlic cloves, red chillies adding salt and enough water. Do not grind it too watery. Step 2 Heat gingelly oil in a pan till its smoking point Step 3 When the oil starts to smoke, simmer the flame and add the ground paste.  Step 4 Mix well and switch off the flame. The flame should be off. Let the chutney be in the hot oil for some time.  Step 5 The culor of chutney will change and it will thicken slightly. Step 6 Remove in a bowl and serve with roti, stuffed paratha or idli, dosa as per your choice.
