A combination of legumes and traditional spices to give a tangy, spicy, delectable soup. Legumes are a good source of plant protein which are easily digested and absorbed by the body. This soup being low in calories, can aid weight loss as the legumes are rich in fiber and aids digestion. Since the vegetable-pulse based soup has low fat, it is helpful to increase HDL(good cholesterol) levels. The traditional spices being rich in B vitamins, magnesium, iron, and zinc helps to improve gut immunity.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Boiled Dhuli moong dal [Split green gram, skinless] - 3 tbsp 
  • Boiled chana dal [Bengal gram] - 3 tbsp
  • Chopped Spring onions with greens - 2 tbsp 
  • Finely chopped garlic - 2-3 cloves
  • White pepper powder - 1/4th tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/4th tsp
  • Lemon juice - 2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 4-5 leaves
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - 1/2 tsp
  • Water - as required
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 In a grinder add boiled moong dal and chana dal, grind them to make a coarse paste. Can add water, if required.  Step 2 Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and saute for few seconds.  Step 3 Add the ground dal paste, salt, and white pepper powder, mix it well.  Step 4 Add cumin powder, lemon juice, spring onion green, curry leaves and water (depend on desired consistency), mix them well and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.  Step 5 Pour it in a bowl and serve hot.
