Green Moong Dosa With Flaxseeds

This recipe combines the best of south Indian snacks with the goodness of the whole moong, resulting in a wholesome and filling snack option. the use of the whole moong offers nutritious benefits. which is rich in fiber content helps in lower cholesterol level. flax seeds are the richest source of omega-3-fatty acids. it is full of healthy fats and fiber.  

INGREDIENTS:
  • Green Moong Dal - ½ tbsp 
  • Raw Rice - 1 tbsp
  • Oil - ½ tsp
  • To Grind to paste:
  • Flaxseed - 2 Tsp
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Garlic - 2 pods
  • Ginger - 1 Tsp
  • Coriander/ mint leaves - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - as per taste
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Wash green moong dal and rice properly and soak them together in warm water for at least an hour. Step 2 Drain the water in a vessel and keep it aside.  Step 3 Use a wet grinder/mixer to grind moong dal and rice. Add drained water to make a smooth batter. But the consistency can be medium thick to that of dosa batter.  Step 4 Pour the batter in a vessel.  Step 5 Grind green chilli, garlic, ginger, coriander/ mint leaves and flaxseed with little water to make a smooth paste.  Step 6 Add the paste and salt to the batter. Step 7 Add water to the batter to get an even flow consistency (same as dosa batter) and keep it aside for at least an hour to enhance the flavour  Step 8 Heat a non-stick tava, grease it with ¼ tsp oil. Pour the batter and spread it evenly in a circular shape.  Step 9 Add remaining  ¼ tsp oil on it and allow it to cook on medium-high heat until the base turns gulden  Step 10 Flip it when the edges begin to rise from the pan.  Step 11 Serve hot with mint-coriander chutney.
