Green peas are one of the most nutritious vegetables, rich in health benefiting phytonutrients, minerals, vitamins, and anti-oxidants. Coriander or cilantro is a wonderful source of dietary fiber, manganese, iron, and magnesium as well. Coriander lowers bad cholesterol (LDL) and increases the levels of good cholesterol (HDL).

INGREDIENTS:

  • Carrots boiled - 30 g
  • Green peas, blanched - 30 g
  • Oil - ½ tsp
  • Green chilies, finely chopped - 2 nos.
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped - 2 tbsp
  • Black peppercorns - 5 nos.
  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  • Salt - to taste

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add 1 green chili chopped, carrots and saute.  Step 2 Grind together remaining 1 green chilli, coriander leaves, black peppercorns, and little salt.  Step 3 Add turmeric powder and salt to the carrots and toss.  Step 4 Add the green peas and ground masala and mix well.  Step 5 Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
