Mix dal amti is composed of the goodness of three different dals, all of which add on to the great amount of protein, fiber, B vitamins, folic acid, magnesium, and other micronutrients. The spices included during the cooking of the dal as well as for the tempering, provide a rich, traditional, tangy, and delectable taste to this recipe. 

INGREDIENTS:
  • Moong dal - 10 g 
  • Toor dal - 5 g
  • Chana dal - 5 g
  • Tomato [chopped] - 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies [chopped] - 1 tsp
  • Garlic [chopped] - 1 tsp
  • Ginger [grated] - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Hing - pinch 
  • Turmeric powder - ½ tsp

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 Add washed, rinsed, and soaked chana dal, moong dal, and toor dal to the pressure cooker and add hing, turmeric, tomatoes, green chilies, and ginger and mix well. Step 2 Cover and pressure cook until 4 whistles. Step 3 Once the dal is cooked completely, add salt and mix properly. Step 4 For tempering, heat up 1 tsp oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and chopped garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add curry leaves, and red chili powder, and mix well. Step 5 Pour the tempering over boiled dal and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with jeera rice or roti.
